Getting referred to us
There are a variety of ways you can be referred.
Your GP
For many insurance policies a simple letter from your GP detailing your problem and any relevant history would be enough for you to receive treatment.
Specialist referral
Some insurance policies may require you to be seen by a medical specialist, which your GP may have already done. If not, we are happy to write to your medical specialist and insurance company, detailing your forthcoming treatment programme.
Self referral
You can refer yourself by booking an appointment directly with us. Please provide us with as much information on your problem as possible, plus any letters, scans or x-rays.
Insured patients
If you have medical insurance you will need to check whether your policy will cover physiotherapy treatment, and also obtain an authorisation number from your provider before you book an appointment. It is quite usual for insurance companies to require a letter of referral from either your GP or your medical specialist in order for them to pay for your treatment. Please clarify the requirements of your insurer before you attend for treatment, so we can make sure everything runs smoothly.
